What is Ponto?

Ponto is an open banking service by Isabel Group, the largest fintech in Belgium. Through Ponto, third-party software like Bouwflow can securely retrieve bank transactions and initiate payments at more than 1,800 European banks.

Ponto holds a PSD2 license and is a payment institution licensed by the National Bank of Belgium. For the link between your bank and Bouwflow, Ponto does two things: pulling in transactions (Account Information Services) and executing payments initiated from Bouwflow (Payment Initiation Services).

Integration

How does the Ponto integration in Bouwflow work?

You activate the integration in Bouwflow under Settings → Integrations. After that, Bouwflow pulls in your transactions, tries to match them to invoices automatically, and lets you forward them to your accountant in one click.

How Bouwflow plugs into your accountant
  • Bank balance and transactions come in automatically multiple times a day, with no manual import
  • Automatic reconciliation: invoices flip to 'paid' as soon as the structured communication (OGM) matches an incoming transaction
  • Connect multiple bank accounts, useful for contractors with separate project or company accounts
  • Pay purchase invoices in bulk from inside Bouwflow, without switching to your banking app
  • Alternative: download a SEPA payment file and upload it manually in your own banking app
  • Export bank transactions to your accountant in one click (Excel export)

Why contractors use Ponto with Bouwflow

1

Cashflow at a glance

Construction projects often run for months, and so does your cashflow. In Bouwflow you see your bank balance, outstanding customer payments and open purchase invoices in one place. No separate banking portal needed.

2

No manual data entry

No more Excel exports from your bank, no copy-paste work. Transactions come in automatically and match themselves to the correct sales or purchase invoice.

3

Pay suppliers faster

Select a batch of purchase invoices, click 'Pay' and confirm in Ponto. Ideal if you process dozens of supplier invoices a month.

4

Secure and PSD2-compliant

Ponto is a payment institution licensed by the National Bank of Belgium. The link runs through regulated Open Banking APIs, not screen scraping. You enter your bank login at your bank, not at Bouwflow.

5

Smooth handoff to your accountant

Forward your bank transactions to your accountant in one click via the Accountant module, including the related invoices if needed.

6

Works with most Belgian banks

Through Ponto you can connect accounts at Belfius, KBC, BNP Paribas Fortis, ING, Argenta, Crelan, vdk and most other Belgian and European banks.
